Key areas of responsibility:

· Mechanical product design in 3D CAD (Pro-Engineer) for Headset or Speaker Box & Receiver, and fine  tune/ redesign of running  Projects

· In close co-operation w ith Process Engineering, also responsible for design of fixtures and mounts for new manufacturing processes and equipment

· Research new design approaches and manufacturability of new technologies for future designs

· Research and evaluate competing technologies (Benchmark)

· Evaluate manufacturing capability of current and potential suppliers

· Interact both internally and directly with suppliers to improve designs for manufacturability between USA, Beijing and Vienna

· Maintain design database, implement and document design changes

· Write specifications, reports, DFMs, analyses and related documents and contribute to regular meetings with global development

· Design, organize of machined or molded proto parts for headset

· Make detailed 2D Drawing out of 3d Parts with respect to Tolerance Analyses and Design Rules

· Share technical Know How/new customer requirements or actions with global development team<!--EndFragment-->

Authorized to:

· redesign  rework product design/concepts

· release of products after positive quality inspection

· Represent the company for technical questions at customer, supplier..

· decide on specific product/ process specifications<!--EndFragment-->

Required education:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
Min 5 years’ experience in design of miniaturized plastic and metal components
Know ledge of micro-actuation technologies (e.g. voice coil, piezo. membrane .)
Extensive experience in use of 3D CAD, Pro-Engineer preferred

Required experience:
Experience in design for high volume, with tight tolerances but low -cost
Good know ledge of processes for injection molding manufacture and tooling
General machining and metal stamping know ledge
Experience in design of mechanics for optical devices is an advantage
Headset design and mass production experience is desired.
Background knowledge of acoustics or speaker or receiver design is a plus

Required special knowledge:

Fully at ease working in a multilingual, multicultural environment
Good presentation skills. Good written and spoken English
Able to work independently and have strong project management skills

Travel and working conditions:
Need travel to customer’s supplier side for local on-site support based on customer’s request, travel of up to 40% of the work time is required.
